Action Village India (AVI) supports Indian partner organisations who work alongside villagers in some of the most remote parts of rural India so they can improve their lives, livelihoods and resilience.\u00a0AVI works towards an India which is just, fair and inclusive, where all people regardless of gender, ethnicity, caste or belief can benefit from the Country\u2019s economic development and lift themselves out of poverty. Advantage Africa supports people affected by poverty, disability and HIV to improve their education, health and incomes. It’s work helps some of East Africa\u2019s most vulnerable people to overcome prejudice, help themselves and build a better future for their families and communities.<\/p>\n

The Coral and Pearl Hostels Trust has two Hostels in Tanzania with two aims: (i) to enable vulnerable young girls to receive a good English-medium education while living in a safe and caring home, and (ii) to help teenage girls who have become pregnant to receive physical and mental care and training, so that they are healthy and can support themselves and their babies.<\/p>\n

Education Saves Lives creates innovative educational resources for the world’s poorest people in their own language. The lessons are\u00a0produced on interactive\u00a0DVD and cover basic healthcare and simple life skills topics such as Malaria, TB, HIV, Basic Hygiene, Healthy Eating, Childcare and Immunisation. Over 700 lessons exist which are being used by local community groups in over 20 countries.<\/p>\n

International Health Partners (IHP) is a global health NGO based in the UK. Their approach brings smallholder farmers together to learn more, grow more and sell more so they can feed their families nutritious food, invest in their farms, send their children to school and build sustainable agri-businesses. Ripple Effect currently has country programmes in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda, and works in partnership in Zambia<\/p>\n

S.A.L.V.E. International<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0https:\/\/www.salveinternational.org\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

S.A.L.V.E. is a UK and Ugandan charity working hard to make sure there is \u201cNo street called home.\u201d\u00a0They aim to reduce the number of young people living on the streets of Uganda through counselling, care and learning. They support children on the streets to return home to their families (or another loving family) and to re-enter education.<\/p>\n

Operating in southeast Madagascar, Seed Madagascar manages a wide range of sustainable development and conservation projects across the Anosy region. Alongside this, they aim to raise global awareness of Madagascar\u2019s unique needs and build constructive partnerships to aid development.<\/p>\n

Self Help Africa’s mission is to alleviate hunger, poverty, social inequality and the impact of climate change. They achieve this through community-led, market-based and enterprise focused approaches to agricultural development, ensuring that people have access to n<\/span>utritious food, d<\/span>ecent incomes and employment\u202f, c<\/span>lean water\u202fand basic services – all <\/span>while sustaining natural resources.\u202f<\/span><\/p>\n

STAND (Formerly Legs 4 Africa)\u00a0 <\/strong>https:\/\/www.legs4africa.org\/<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

STAND recycles prosthetic legs that would otherwise end up in landfill and facilitate support groups so amputees in sub-Saharan Africa can live more independent, fulfilled lives.<\/p>\n

For over 30 years, Toybox has been working alongside street children, first in Latin America and now in Asia and Africa. Their core purpose is to help children marginalised and abused by those who should be protecting them.<\/p>\n

Tree Aid <\/strong><\/span>https:\/\/www.treeaid.org\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Tree Aid works with people in the drylands of Africa. Led by local people, their projects are tackling poverty and the effects of the climate crisis by growing trees, improving incomes, and restoring and protecting land. Their projects make sure trees thrive so they can provide food and incomes today and protect the environment for tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Every day over 230 NHS doctors come in from a busy shift, log onto the Virtual Doctors app and volunteer to improve the lives of people in rural Africa.\u00a0The Virtual Doctors use a Smartphone App to connect isolated health centres in rural Zambia and Malawi with volunteer doctors, based predominantly in the UK. The volunteer doctors offer advice to diagnose conditions, and to manage and treat patients.
